Day Sixteen of Gratitude

I missed posting this on the right day by about an hour.  It was a very busy day, and we did a lot of good, so close enough for government work. ;)

So the assignment is to stand looking in the mirror and to write about 5 things I like.   Um, yeah…

SO today I am sooooo very thankful for the wonderful people of Twitter and Paypal and the Charity Smackdown folks who made it possible for Spirit Jump to win $2000 to help people fighting cancer.  That is huge!  My son donated and I am so proud of him for that.  He wasn’t asked, he just did it.  As did many other people today who donated to their favorite charity in the Smackdown.  I can’t thank enough the “big” names in the twitterverse who retweeted and got the message out to their followers.  I can’t thank enough all the people who donated.

I’m not a big person on Twitter as far as followers go.  With all the chatter I threw out there today and yesterday for the smackdown and the #beatcancer fundraiser I lost some followers.  I gained some, too.  I am so thankful to all the people who understood or overlooked the excessive tweets and still follow me.  I am so thankful for all the goodness that I found out there the last couple days.  I feel like we made a difference, that the world is a little better for our efforts, and for that I am the most thankful of all.

Day Fifteen of Gratitude #BeatCancer

Today is supposed to be about me and my talents and what makes me unique.  Well, I’ve always been one to do my own thing sometimes, so today is about how thankful I am for companies and people participating in donating money to charities that fight cancer through the #beatcancer hashtag.

Twitter kept me from updating my status for a while because I hit some limit.  I was trying to get the word out there for Spirit Jump and do what I could to help raise awareness and funds for such a great cause.  Thank you to all the companies donating money per tweet and blog mention and Facebook status update.  I’ve seen enough pain caused by cancer and every little bit that helps find a cure or ease the suffering is something I will stand up and cheer.  Kudos to everyone involved and tweeting and donating and doing what you can to help.  You have my gratitude.

Day Six of Gratitude

I hit my 1000th tweet on Twitter earlier today.  The people I have “met” on twitter have impacted me and my life in many ways and I am so very thankful.  I have followed people whose creativity has inspired me to be more creative.  I have followed some that simply inspire with their words.  But I am most thankful for the people I have met through Spirit Jump.

Meaghan Edelstein and others from Spirit Jump have provided me with friendship and support, laughter and tears, and opportunities to serve others.  I am so grateful for the chance to help people when they need a lift to their spirits while battling major health issues.  It does more for me than it does for the people who receive the cards I send, I am sure.

Through Spirit Jump and their following on twitter, I found many others for whom I am profoundly thankful to have met.  Self Symmetry helped me with some of the first jewelry I have bought myself in years and in more ways than I can list.  The same can be said of Live Life Solid whose generosity and thoughtfulness inspires me as much as their “Solidisms”.  There are so many other people whose tweets I look forward to reading each day, and I’d hug them if I had the chance.  I could write pages about how inspiring all these people are, but I would challenge you to follow some of the links here on my blog and see for yourself why I am so thankful for my new friends through twitter and Spirit Jump.
