Today was gorgeous outside and I wanted to take advantage of it. I figured I’d work on cleaning out the garage and get a little yard work done. I was all geared-up and outside with the two little ones when the school bus pulled up with some of the teens. The looks on their faces of wonder, then recognition, then what can only be described as a fight-or-flight responses made the work that much more fun. 
You see, when your mom has been pretty sick and in and out of the hospital a lot, what you expect to see your mom doing is different than most moms. Once the stun wore off, they knew I was having a good day and in one of those moods where they get recruited to help with major projects. It’s not their favorite thing to see even though I am sure they are glad I am feeling better. I think they prefer what my 5 year old son said so well: “You lay down and rest Mom, we’ll do what we want.”
